10 Jun The Most Fun, Active Things to Do In College Park
Any activities list for College Park has to include Lake Artemesia. There’s so much to do within its 38 acres it’s hard to know where to begin. How about in the butterfly garden? It features a cute butterfly sculpture and tons of native plants that attract butterflies.
Hikers, bikers, and runners will get a big adrenaline rush from the area’s many trails, including a two-miler around the entire lake. There’s a fishing pier for those who want to try their luck at catching dinner and other water activities like kayaking.
Believe it or not, Westchester Tower Apartment Homes actually has a national park in its backyard. Greenbelt Park — dubbed an “urban oasis” — has tons of beautiful hiking and walking trails, along with picnic areas and campsites too.
Right across the way, Schrom Hills Park offers great space for more organized outdoor activities. Make use of its baseball field, basketball court, soccer field, outdoor gym, and more. College Park also has its own disc golf course at the Paint Branch Community Park. The course is open all year and offers a full 18-holes. It’s tons of fun. During winter, make your way over to Herbert Wells Ice Rink for some ice skating.
There’s tons to do in College Park, and near Greenbelt, to keep you active, and Westchester Tower is at the center of it all. It’s the perfect community for those who keep active and engaged in the community while having top-notch comforts and amenities at home.
